** Electronics Engineer **

************************************************************************

By profession, Roger Swann is a director of a busy electronics company specialising in the design and manufacture of microprocessor based controlsystems including hardware design and PCB layout, Windows/Linux/Android software applications and embedded software development (www.cigol.com ). His spare time is devoted to music (as both a performer and audience member (these days with a particularemphasis on opera)). Other enthusiasms include hill walking and the challenging business of wine tasting. He has been known to dabble in both composition and water colours but is painfully aware of his failure to achieve anything of real note in either media.

He is a regular early morning walker around the hills of East Devon. He also trys to fit in visits to both Seaton and Colyton gym training facilities, if only to remind himself of how fit some other people are!

In May 2025, Roger and Julie completed the Wicklow Way (through the hills south of Dublin)

In November 2024, Roger and Julie made it to the top of Pico do Fogo (Fogo, Cape Verde Islands). At 2800m it's a good walk up! And some of the descent is a good slide (on volcanic ash) down!

Here's a picture of us at the top with our local guide ("Rosy"). If you look carefully you can see the Atlantic breakers in the far distance below the clouds.
